IUCN delegation visits China and talks with Ministry of Natural Resources on international frontier issues in ecological civilization

From November 18 to 21, at the invitation of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Zhang Xinsheng, Chairman of the Board of the World Conservation Union (IUCN), and Acting Director-General Gretel Aguila visited the Ministry of Natural Resources. Minister of Natural Resources Lu Hao met with Zhang Xinsheng, Aijila and his party to discuss and discuss the international frontier issues and focus issues in the protection and utilization of natural resources.

Lu Hao said that since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core has incorporated ecological civilization construction into the overall layout of the Five in One, and clearly stated that ecological civilization construction is related to the sustainable development of the Chinese nation. President Xi Jinping attaches great importance to and vigorously promotes the construction of ecological civilization. The establishment of the Ministry of Natural Resources is a major reform measure of the Chinese government to further promote the construction of ecological civilization. The Ministry of Natural Resources assumes the function of two unifications and further expands the larger land and space ecosystem. Promote the protection and overall restoration of landscapes, forests, fields, lakes and grass systems.

Lu Hao pointed out that in recent years, China's ecological civilization construction has achieved outstanding results, but ecological protection and sustainable use of natural resources still face many problems and challenges, especially how to deal with the relationship between protection and development in the current stage of development. To achieve high-quality development; how to translate the principles of sustainable development and conservation-first, protection-first, and natural-recovery-based principles into effective systems and scientific working mechanisms requires in-depth research and promotion. In order to achieve the important goals of ecological protection and sustainable use of global natural resources, more in-depth research is needed on the ecosystem as a whole. It is necessary to learn from a series of important experiences accumulated by international organizations and relevant countries, as well as to find suitable ones for China solution. IUCN explores and accumulates successful cases of nature conservation norms and standards, and solves the problems of nature and ecosystem protection. We are willing to strengthen comprehensive system cooperation with IUCN, set up joint research groups on major issues, explore solutions to complex issues, and promote nature and ecology. Zhang Xinsheng said that China's reform measures and practical actions in the construction of ecological civilization are of great significance to the world.
